Getting to Know FISCHER USA's Customer Service Team: Patricia

Patricia DeBettignies Interview - Customer ServiceName: Patricia DeBettignies

Job Title: Customer Service
How long have you worked for FISCHER USA?
Since 2010

What areas have you worked in?
Customer Service

What's your favorite thing about working for FISCHER USA?
The management team cares about all the employees. We had no layoffs throughout this whole pandemic rollercoaster. Schedules were adjusted to accommodate parents who
needed to stay home with kids. We took on work that was outside of our normal to keep employees employed. That says a lot about the leadership here and their commitment to the employees.

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?
I’m a mover. I move paperwork to keep the jobs moving through the process.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?
Working with all departments towards one goal. Meeting the customer expectations.

What's your favorite part of the spindle?
I don’t have a favorite part of the spindle. I am however very fond of a completed, ready-to-ship spindle.

What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?
Do your best and be willing to ask questions.

Who is someone you admire, and why?
Mrs. Darlene Larsen. She is the coordinator at Faith Community Church. Darlene is always kind and willing to listen. She advises only when asked for advice and the love of Christ just pours out of her. She is wonderfully loving with Children from ages 1 day to 100 years.

What are your tips for being successful?
Do your best and when a mistake is made,(because no one is perfect) own it, learn from it and move forward.

The most important thing I learned (in or since) high school is…
Participate – don’t sit on the sidelines, participate in life and engage with others even when its not comfortable. Otherwise, you get left behind.

How do you want people to remember you?
As an honest person who does the best she can with the gifts she has been given.

Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
I paint. Mostly landscapes but some still life. I also really like to garden; this year I am going to attempt to grow a giant pumpkin.

What is top on your bucket list?
I don’t really have a bucket list, but I wouldn’t object to riding in a hot air balloon at sunrise.

Flashback to when you were 5 years old, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Either a police officer or a teacher.

If you had a choice between two superpowers, being invisible or flying, which would you choose?
Flying. Wouldn’t that feel unbelievable?

Finish this sentence. On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me...
In about the 5th pew in on the left side of the aisle at Faith Community Church on Newman Road. Everyone is invited to come sit with me. The services are enlightening, and the people are friendly.
