History of FISCHER USA

FISCHER USA has a long, and strong, history in the high-speed spindle industry. To examine the history of FISCHER USA, one must look at two companies, PRECISE (USA) and FISCHER (Switzerland), that later merged.

Precise Products HeadquartersIn 1941, Precise Products was founded in Racine, WI with the introduction of the Super 30 high-speed electric hand grinder to provide a more accurate solution to machine small, intricate scale models. Precise Products became The Precise Corporation and relocated to the current location of FISCHER USA in 1956. The Precise Corporation continued its growth in the PRECISE brand of small, highly accurate, high-speed machining spindles for the next 52 years until the merger.

In Switzerland, FISCHER was founded in 1939 as Stohler & Fischer AG in Inkwil, Switzerland. In 1943, the grinding spindle production and sales was moved to Herzogenbuchsee, Switzerland. Another relocation, in 1953, took them to a new building nearby, and this location is the company's current headquarters. Roland Fischer became the second generation to take over the company in 1976. In 1997, FISCHER took the important step of developing a strong US sales and service presence, with the creation of Fischer USA Spindle Technologies, Inc. in New Brighton, MN.

In 2006, FISCHER acquired PRECISE, and the two US companies then merged to form FISCHER PRECISE USA and moved all operations to Racine. Over the years, we have expanded our assembly and manufacturing space several times as well as switched our name to FISCHER USA. The vast experience and expertise provided by our company's long history allows us to provide proven quality in both new sales and high-speed spindle repairs.

In January of 2018, it was announced that Roland Fischer had sold 100% of his shares to his son Patrik Fischer. This purchase by Patrik Fischer completes the goal of keeping the company in the family to allow FISCHER to continue on as a family company. The succession within the family also ensured a smooth transition, and ensures the company continues to strengthen its worldwide leadership in spindle technology.
