Quality Control/Inspections

Within the FISCHER USA culture, quality is a key pillar in everything we do, whether it be in the manufacturing of brand new spindles or the repairing of old ones. The tools that we use also need to stand up to our pillar of quality. When doing a recent refurbishing, we needed to measure the bore of a large milling head. This is where our Zeiss CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) came in handy. Our team knows that the measurements when using this tool will be of the highest accuracy, which is important for quality assurance. The Zeiss CMM machine that we use has a precise probe system, and all ...

Repair vs. Replace

A couple questions that are commonly asked by our customers are “How do I know if I should replace my spindle?” or “How many times can one spindle be repaired?” In almost all cases, repairing the spindle is much quicker, and less expensive. As part of the repair process, we work with our customer to identify areas of concern related to the lifetime of the spindle and the failure mode. We produce a twelve page failure report each and every time as a tool to share with you the details of your failed spindle and discuss together how failures can be eliminated or reduced. Most often the repair of ...

History of FISCHER USA

FISCHER USA has a long, and strong, history in the high-speed spindle industry. To examine the history of FISCHER USA, one must look at two companies, PRECISE (USA) and FISCHER (Switzerland), that later merged. Precise Products became The Precise Corporation and relocated to the current location of FISCHER USA in 1956. The Precise Corporation continued its growth in the PRECISE brand of small, ...
